Fall 2011
Course Description: This course provides a basic framework for understanding and
interpreting the New Testament by offering vital historical, geographical, and
cultural insights. Step by Step
Through the New Testament is a helpful workbook that teaches the “who-what-when-where’s”
of the New Testament. Ronny Simon
will show you the Israel of Jesus’ day, and Matt Williams will guide you
through the parables of Jesus. Finally,
the webinar and blogs will supplement the material by providing other
invaluable New Testament information.

Live Webinar: “The Gospel and the Four Gospels” Apr. 16th,

Course Plan:
1. Keep a log of all hours spent doing course work. You must document at least 45 hours. Submit to your onsite supervisor at the end of the course.
2. Complete Step by Step Through the New Testament. Fill in all the blanks and answer all the questions Submit to your onsite supervisor at the end of the course.
3. Watch volume 2 of Ronny Simon’s The Israel of the Bible and sessions 1-6 of The Parables of Jesus, and take the accompanying quizzes. Quizzes consist of objective questions (multiple choice, matching, fill-in-the-blank, etc) and are open-note. You may even complete the quiz while viewing the DVD. You must view all lectures and take all quizzes by December 16th.
4. Log in to attend the live Webinar, “The Gospel and the Four Gospels” on April 16th, 6:30-8:30 Central. Attendance is required.
5. Check the course blog weekly. New blogs, with material relevant to the course, will be posted each week. Interact with the bloggers and your fellow students in the comment section.
6. Log in to the Testing Center to take your Final Exam any time during the week of May 7-11. Final exam will consist of objective questions (multiple choice, matching, fill-in-the-blank, etc) and a couple of brief essays.

Workbook- 30%
Quizzes on DVD Lectures- 30%
Student Time Log- 10%
Participation (Webinar
attendance, blog comments)- 10%
Final Exam- 20%
